Only your own body, your own immune system can keep you healthy and fight infections and all other ailments. (Excluding external injuries and broken bones that need repair).
Simply said if you are getting ill or are ill from infection, viruses, parasites or poisoning, it is your immune system that has to cope with this.
Very often because of our environmental pollution in air and food, our immune system has a lot of overtime to do. This gradually creeps on us unknowingly.
Thus the first thing we have to do is to try living a more healthy life, eating fresh food, a bit more vedge and fruits, a bit more exercise and everything that helps to obliterate stress.
Stay away from factory processed foods as much as you can, because they fill it up with all kinds of heavy duty poisons. (sometimes you might be better off eating dog food, it is more controlled)
Do not believe all the ‘medical’ junk they try to push on you, every day there is a new opinion.
Use your intuition and how you feel, eat what you feel good with, eat what your body can process without problems.
Stop eating when you feel its enough, don’t empty your plate. (As kids we were told “eat your plate”, this comes from the middle ages when children plates were made of bread (pizza?))
There is logic, use it. We are here since 100’s of thousands of years, we survived, we remained healthy. It is only in the last 70 years we have started developing different ailments, directly connected to our chemical/pharmaceutical industry and our way of living.
So each of us, since we are all different, needs to sit down and make a short list of how he/she should and would like to live and what to eat and what not.
We are always talking about eating, what about drinking water? Really how much clear clean water did you drink today? Probably not a lot. Certainly not enough.
We are water based, we need lots of water, it cleans our system.
Just look at a small stream, with hardy any water going through. It gets all clogged, all the rubbish gets caught everywhere. Then comes a big rainstorm, the water smashes though, all the junk is sped away and a couple of days later the small stream is clean again. That is what your insides are like.
I don’t want to hack too much about the pharma industrial complex here (I normally do), but lets go back to logic. Say you are sick, you got a virus or infection that is spreading in your organs and cells, your immune system brings out the whole army to combat the invaders with all the weapons at their disposal.
Then your local doctor, on his computer ‘discovers’ what you have and sells you a bag full of medication, chemically produced pharmaceuticals. The main objective of these chemicals is to attack something, the side effect is to destroy often far more.
Now your poor immune system is practically knocked out by the chemicals and the artificial agents start killing anything in sight, fiend or friend. They have no concept of these things (were not trained for that).
The nasties get killed, but also the allies that keep you body in tune. Your immune system is on the brink and will need days/weeks/months to get back to battle formation and in the meantime all systems are down. Most of your vital organs have no idea what happened to them and start producing all kinds of stuff that the body did not need right now. Too much acid, etc. Recovery will be slow and if there is a new infection or viral attack, there is no resistance left to battle even the smallest of bacteria. Up to system shut down.

Only 270 million people each year die of overuse, misuse and incorrect prescription of pharmaceuticals. (Far less die of ‘illegal’ drugs)
This said, I provide a short list of easy to obtain natural remedies that do not attack your immune system, but on the contrary give your immune system a helping hand. Never ever underestimate also your own belief system. In many medical experiments it has been proven that placebos often do a better job than the real chemical, for the simple reason that if we put our mind force in a positive healing mode we give a giant boost to healing.
Very often when we are sick we feel so terrible that we do not have the positive mindset to help our healing. That is where natural ‘boosters’ can help your immune system to combat better armed.
Imagine an army with battle cars to go meet the enemy and they first puncture all the tires. With full inflated tires I’m sure it will work a lot better.
The simple basic remedies that we cover here are:

SODIUM BICARBONATE (pharmaceutical grade (not your supermarket baking powder))
Bicarbonate has the immense ability to stabilize the Ph to the right level of 7,34 in a very short time.
In an alkaline surrounding infectious bacteria and viruses cannot survive, they love acid.
An easy way to roughly check your Ph is to buy some cheap Litmus paper and put it in a recipient with your urine, if it turns to the right colour (greenish) corresponding with a Ph of 7+, you are ok.
If it is more yellow your Ph is too low and you have to yank it up
USE: To combat a flue, immediately take some bicarbonate, 1 teaspoon in a large glass of water and repeat every 3-4 hours. Viruses will definitely not survive and you probably will only have the early start of a flue and then its gone. Continue on a lower dosage for 3 days and check afterwards that your Ph stays around 7+.

The hormonal functions of vitamin D include regulation of bone health, regulation of muscle health (including both skeletal and heart muscle), regulation of immune response, regulation of insulin and blood sugar, and regulation of calcium and phosphorus metabolism.
We are all D3 deficient.
Vitamin D is produced by your skin in response to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. Your body cannot create vitamin D behind glass; UV rays are filtered through glass. You must be in direct exposure to sunlight!
Many health experts recommend taking around 5,000 IU vitamin D daily, but this amount varies. The best way to gauge how much you should be taking is to get a blood test.

An easy way is to get 100,000 UI capsules at your pharmacist and take on every 2-3 months. The D3 is stored in your liver and released in the quantities that your system needs.
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and is essential to good health. Approximately 50% of total body magnesium is found in bone. The other half is found predominantly inside cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% of magnesium is found in blood, but the body works very hard to keep blood levels of magnesium constant.
Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keeps heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong. Magnesium also helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and is known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. There is an increased interest in the role of magnesium in preventing and managing disorders such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.
Green vegetables such as spinach are good sources of magnesium because the center of the chlorophyll molecule (which gives green vegetables their color) contains magnesium. Some legumes (beans and peas), nuts and seeds, and whole, unrefined grains are also good sources of magnesium.
Eating a wide variety of legumes, nuts, whole grains, and vegetables will help you meet your daily dietary need for magnesium.
Our agricultural soils have been rather depleted of magnesium, thus there is less in our food. Approximately one-third to one-half of dietary magnesium is absorbed into the body.
Early signs of magnesium deficiency include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, muscle cramps and weakness. Magnesium oxide is the cheapest but the least well absorbed by our system.
By far the best way to take and absorb Magnesium into your body is either by soaking yourself in the bath for at least 20 mins (adding 3 cups of Epsom salts to the bath water) or to use a little warm water (enough just to submerge the soles of your feet and toes in a small bolw), add and dissolve 3 tblsps of Epsom Salts, and soak your feet for half an hour (less wasteful than a bath, but just as good). The reason that this is the best way to absorb magnesium is that its absorbtion does not require the digestive system, so there is no chance of problems like diarrhea. Also, by soaking, the body will only absorb the amount of magnesium that it needs, so this method works well with your body's magnesium regulation.
For some forms of arthritis the combination of magnesium supplement and sodium bicarbonate works absolute wonders.
When nerves start playing up some magnesium supplements will help to soothe down.
When you get muscle cramps take some magnesium and it will be gone.
I do 3 times anually a 20 day magnesium supplement cure.
I am not a professional health practitioner, I am like you and have studied for 60 years my own body and searched for remedies that work for my ailments. (I have had some very nasty ones).
So my advice; be reasonable, listen to your body, don’t overdo. There is no magic. Getting sick takes time, getting better takes more time. The incredible feeling that you a doing better is winning half the battle.
People expect from the pharmaceutical industry to deliver instant remedies. There is no such thing.
Most dis-eases creep up gradually over time, sometimes they take years to establish, one cannot take that away in days, it takes time, adjustment, change of diets that are not compatible, add supplements that are lacking, change posture, add adapted exercise. Pain in general is provoked by Staphylococcus, that love to be in infected areas. A painkiller does not take the infection away. The immune battling army can take an infection away, but it needs enough ‘soldiers’. If the body has numerous infections or near infections, the immune army is scattered all over the place, trying to extinguish fires all over the place and will run out of personnel. Might even close down, out of business, down and out, give up. The end.
Never ever let it come that far. React to pains, which are infections, try to find the cause. Your doctor might help, but don’t forget he does not feel what you feel, and you cannot explain in medical terms. Become aware what you are, what you eat, what you do and find natural remedies.
We are now in a time where you do not have to go to a library and search though stuffy technical books, three words in a search engine and you have a thousand answers. Then you search out what seems to be the most reasonable one.
If you can do without pharmaceuticals you could be a lot more healthy. That industry needs to be changed completely to tune to healing people and not creating patients forever milking them.
